Class
descriptions: Beginning and advanced
mariachi ensemble this Fall 98, a "History of Mariachi: Style
and Culture" class offered for the first
time in
Spring '99, and if all goes well we'll be
offering a 2-year
Associates
Degree called "Music: Mariachi
Emphasis" starting Fall '99.
If that
major comes about I also hope to offer
"Arranging Music for Mariachi" and "Mariachi
Teaching Methods" which--along with
basic
music theory/history/etc. and gen. ed.
requirements--would round out
the Music: Mariachi Emphasis major.
